Waiting / Esperando

We are in a season of waiting. Some days are easy and other days are more difficult. Today is a more difficult day. The time line keeps shifting and we know that God is in control but it is easy to get discouraged along the way. It is hard to live knowing that you will be moving to another country anytime in the near future but not really knowing how much time you have left where you are at. We do know we will be in Nicaragua at least until the end of the year, but beyond that it is a mystery. We had originally thought we would be moving THIS year.

Today we checked the status of our case with USCIS and while the National Goal remains 5 months, the National Average for processing our specific type of form went from 9 1/2 months to 11 months. Ugh! That will put us at about March/April 2014 before we hear anything, and this is just the first step in the process. We do know that God is in control and our application could already be well in process. We have already seen one purpose behind the delay - Orlando's graduation was supposed to happen in June, but now he will be graduating December 29th. :) The Lord really does work things out for our good and while we wait we will continue to serve Him, seek Him, and worship Him.

Estamos en un tiempo de espera. Algunos días son fáciles y otros días son más difíciles. Hoy es un día más difícil. La línea de tiempo mantiene cambiando y sabemos que Dios está en control, pero es fácil desanimarse en el camino. Es difícil vivir sabiendo que va a mudarse a otro país en cualquier momento en un futuro próximo, pero sin saber cuánto tiempo le queda en la que se encuentra. Sí sabemos que estaremos en Nicaragua por lo menos hasta el final del año, pero más allá de eso es un misterio. Habíamos pensado en un principio íbamos a mover ESTE año.

Hoy revisamos el estado de nuestro caso con el USCIS y mientras el objetivo nacional sigue siendo de 5 meses, el promedio nacional para el procesamiento de nuestro tipo específico de forma pasamos de 9 1/2 meses a 11 meses. ¡Ugh! Eso nos pone en alrededor de marzo/abril 2014 antes de oír nada, y esto es sólo el primer paso en el proceso. Sabemos que Dios está en control y nuestra aplicación ya podría estar bien en proceso. Ya hemos visto un propósito detrás de la demora - la graduación de Orlando tenía que suceder en junio, pero ahora se va a graduar el 29 de diciembre. :) El Señor realmente resuelva las cosas para nuestro bien y mientras esperamos vamos a seguir sirviendole, buscandole y adorandole.
